Do You Consider Yourself A Spender, Or A Saver And Why

Do you consider yourself a spender, or a server, and why?

[question posted by LouieWpHs04]

responses and comments:

I consider myself to be both. I see something I really want. I save up for it Then I pay cash for it. So I save then I spend. [rintintin]

I consider myself a saver. Why spend money you don't have...Because I don't have much money. [queenofarms]
Good point! Yeah, i'm pretty broke lately too :( [LouieWpHs04]

I used to be a spender. I've bought thousands of dollars worth of books, dvds, and videogames. Now I'm trying to save as much as I can. [JohnSteel]
Oh? Well that's reasonable. My friend does the same thing but now he's making a bit more so he can.. kind of buy things he doesn't really need as much, =P [LouieWpHs04]

I would consider me as spender, as Whenever I get some money I spends it in buying new things. But I am a saver in the case I have to buy anything expensive, as I cannot get much amount in a day, so I have to save money to make up for it. [arnbtr]

Well, once when my mom gave me money for some groceries (I think she wanted bread and sodas), I went all over town with my grandma and I spent the money on myself. When I had a job for a week, my uncle asked me to buy him a drink and I did, but I didn't spend any more of that money, even on a 99 cent drink for myself. So, when it's someone else's money, I spend it. When it's money I earned on my own, I save it lmao! [lancingboy]
Haha, wow! That's not a very good habit ya' got there! [LouieWpHs04]

I think I am a server, though I can not support myself now. My mother describes me as a miser, for I always think over and over before go out to buy a thing. In many cases, I waited for a long time until it is on sale. When I go shopping with my family, I am the controller of the money. Because I can help make my family members all happy with the least expend. Several years late, I will be the bread-earner of my family. At that time, I think I can surely be a great server. [dandan07]
I know what you mean by waiting until something is on sale or decrease in price before buying it. I have been doing the same thing, or I buy the off-brand to save about half of what the name brand costs. A Memory Card for the PS2 is an example of something I bought recently. My brother got a 2 pack of official memory cards (8 MB each) that was like $40 each pack. Sunday, I bought an off brand memory card of my own that was 16 MB (two in one, as in 16 MB in one memory card) for $14. That is the same amount of memory for a whole lot cheaper. [lancingboy]

Well, I think I'm a reasonable spender, and a saver too. I only spend on things that we really need. I try to do away with those that we can do without. Food is a necessary thing to spend on. I make sure there is always something to eat, but not too much to overeat. I am frugal and practical. I like to be prepared for the "rainy days" that may come. [paulsy]

A saver for sure. I dont spend money unless i need to. I try not to spend money . I know a lot of people just spend money when they have it , they dont really save. [bikespot]
Yep, that's not a good habit to have! [LouieWpHs04]

I consider myself as a spender. I spend a lot of money. its not that i always spend that way. But now I am seeing in family, when there is anything that money is needed its by default myself who spend money for the need. [subha12]

I am a spender! i wish I was a saver but its too hard to be a saver. I used to save all of my money and then I decided its best for me to spend it and enjoy it. I am a cheapie though. I am always looking for a bargain. I am a cheap spender lol... [lala766]
Well if you save it and invest it properly, you'll have much more to spend and you'll enjoy yourself so much more later on down the road, =D.. at least, that's how I like to look at it! =O You can still enjoy yourself though and save at the same time! Just be more cautious when buying products. Such as for example. Let's say you buy paper towels, instead of buying paper towels stop at mcdonalds and order a cheeseburger or two and ask for extra napkins, or just run in and grab some and leave. It's better you order though, lol =P You would be suprised how much you can save from doing little stuff like that. =) [LouieWpHs04]

I am the absolute saver. Simply as I was taught to be one by my mom. We never had much cash and she taught me to use it wisely from an early age on. I am very careful about spending money and when I want something I first think and consider a lot before actually buying it, if it is not an absolute necessity as the old item is broken and has to be replaced now without waiting to do so. I have the dream of stopping to work at that boring office with 60 years old and so I try to save up for the gap between stopping to work and receiving old age pension which will be about 6 years I will have to bridgt. [book1962]
Yep! Only get what you need, and if you truely do have the money to spare, get what you want! =) [LouieWpHs04]

I mainly only spend money when I have to these days because we have already accumulated alot of things we always wanted in life. It is time to pay off everything and start saving now because the ecom=nomy is so bad now and the price of everything is so high. My husband also wants to retire in 11 years. [stephcjh]
Sounds like a garage sale is in order! Or do you still use a lot of the stuff that you've "always wanted", =P and yeah, the economy keeps getting worse and worse... *sigh* [LouieWpHs04]

Now I think I am more of a saver than a spender. I guess that's because I spent too much when I was younger and I sort of got tired of it *laughs*. I still buy things once in awhile but I would make sure I have money after I save before I spend on anything. [wondericequeen]
Yeahh, not a very good idea to get something you don't really need if you don't really have the money to spend! [LouieWpHs04]

I am both a spender and a saver because whatever I save, I do spend it..sometimes I do make unwise spending... [excellence7]
Yeah well, noones perfect! =P [LouieWpHs04]

I am both a spender and a saver because i do save for future use. But sometimes it happens that I spend out of my budget also. [jyoti_medha]
Well you're ahead of most! A lot of people are really careless about their money & even with the economy getting worse people are still spending way too much! [LouieWpHs04]

i think i am a saver,im not interested something prevail in Modern times.but i dont why i always feel lack of money in the end of month.that's like a riddle to me,maybe i should make a notebook to write down my comsume details everyday. [rookiekan]
A notebook to keep track of your spendings on a daily, weekly, or even monthly scale is a very good idea to do. When you actually look at the notebook & see it all written down and it's costs, it makes you more willing to save. "I paid this much for paper towels in a month?! Maybe I should be more conservative when it comes to using them!" stuff like that. Yes I know, I used paper towels as an example in another response earlier, =P [LouieWpHs04]

happy Hi Louie. I used to be a big spender when I was younger. I did not realize at that time how hard it was to earn money. Now that I am a parent, I have definitely realized the value of money and how to spend it wisely.happy [toni_nakama]
Yep! Huge life changes always help you to be more careful with your money. =P [LouieWpHs04]

I consider myself as a saver and i dont have much money to spend more.I am a middle class person,so with in a limited budget only i can spend. [sreejithsreenivas]
Well with sites like Mylot it helps make it easier to spend money outside of the box that you've made in your spare time enjoying yourself! =D [LouieWpHs04]

I am a saver who is OK with spending once she has saved enough to make her feel adequate. if that makes any sense. I love spending just when i know I have the money to spare. [DDDanielle]
Yep! That makes perfect sense, =P As I said earlier, Only get what you need, and if you truely do have the money to spare, get what you want! =) [LouieWpHs04]

saving and spending both depending onb eachother :D i feels so good when you have your grandparents at your place :D they rarelt ask you to do work and when they do they reward you handsomely i would consider myself to be a spender :P and after a period of time , to continue my habit to spend i HAVE to save :( so it automatically comes to my mind that if i have to spend i have to save now i feel that it is better to continue to save and spend when required :D [meathed]
