How Cheap Are You Do You Save Or Spend

How are you with your money? Are you frugal? Do you spend every dime? I guess I tend to be on the cheaper side. I cut coupons and am always looking for a sale or discount. But, I'm not a cheap person. If there is a big item I need/want and I don't just go for the cheapest thing. I research and get the best for my money, even if that means spending more. You should have seen all the research I did when buying a car. I wanted to make suer I wasn't wasting my money. So, how are you.... are you a saver or a spender?

I am always looking for a bargain and often don't go out shopping because I know that I will spend money that I can't afford. I have bought the cheapest option before, but I find that it sometimes isn't the best option as you have to replace things sooner. I don't acutally manage to save that much money because I am on a budget. Hopefully a bit of income from this will help! [michelledarcy]
here are some ways I like to save money. - Like I said, I cut coupons. We get the Sunday Paper and I always go through it and cut coupons for things I would normally buy. That's the key. Don't cut coupons for things that you wouldn't buy otherwise. - If I know ahead of time what I'm going to be buying, I'll look online for coupons as well. There are certain sites where they have grocery coupons or you can go to the actual company's site and a lot of times they have coupons as well. For example, Gerber, Tylenol, and Afrin all have coupons on their site that you can print out. - I read the ads in the Sunday paper and it something is on sale (that I needed anyway) I'll make sure to go to that store to buy it. - If I'm buying things online I try to search for a coupon code for the store to use during check out. Also, for online purchases I try to go through quick rewards, ebates, or bigcrumbs. If you go through those sites first you get a % cash back. It really makes it worth it and they deposit it right into your paypal account. Here are the links: Big Crumbs: http://www.bigcrumbs.com/crumbs/frontpage.jsp?r=rachelcaron Quick Rewards: http://www.quickrewards.net/q.cgi?201u.ref=rachelcaron@hotmail.com Ebates: http://www.ebates.com/rf.do?id=31699060 - I like to go to freebee sites and get samples and stuff. On www.vickysdeals.com there are lots of links to samples and coupons. - If we are going to leave the house, I turn the air up or down (depending on summer/winter) [rachelcaron]

My wife is the spender in the family, and I am more the saver. It is funny as I used to be the spender and she was the saver. I do not know what happened, but I changed. I do not save every dime, I just suggest to my wife she goes shopping every once in a while, instead of everyweek. She agrees with me so we do not argue about it. I do think it is good you research or shop around to get the best for your money. It is wise to do that even if you are rich. [Gambler2]

I personally hate money. It makes people mean! I am frugal shopper. I watch my pennies. I do buy nice things though. I will pay more for something that I think is better than other brands. I do not buy cheap electonics or applinaces. I know that you get what you pay for. I do shop at ALDI's for my groceries. I also shop at thrift stores for material for my quilts. I make my own quilts. I bought a HE Front loading washer to save on electric and on water bill. The initial cost was higher but it has saved alot on my power and water bills. Plus it uses less detergent. No, I am not cheap but I am frugal and I love saving money. [villageanne]
when i first read your comment, i thought you meant you "hated money" which is why you spend them all to get rid of them! haha it's the joke answer. :) wow you make your own quilts! that's good for you that you save money. i should learn to do that too. [janjabu]

I am very frugal it takes me six months to get the best price on a car and I always try to find the best price for everything I save and I figure I get more choices if I do it well [msqtech]
good! I agree. [rachelcaron]

i would have to say that i am a little bit of both. i will save up some money if me and my friends plan some kind of trip to go on at a future date. but unless i have to save up for something like that then i spend my money. i never cut coupons but i always look for sales on clothes. [ram13288]

I think we shop the same way. I clip coupons and look for the bargains too! Why am I going to pay $4.oo for milk when I can get it for $2.50. My teenage daughters always walk away when I get to the checkout line, no way can they be seen with me when I am using coupons. I once left my cart at CVS and went back home to get my coupons. The cashiers all know me and my girls. My daughter came home later that day and said thanks for embarrassing me. I was a little bit confused because she spent the day with her friends. The girls went shopping at CVS. The cashier made a big deal about me forgetting my coupons and returning home to get them. Just what my daughter wanted her friends to hear. LMAO [trouble4u2avoid]
that is funny! [rachelcaron]

im studying to be an accountant, need anymore clues? haha yeah im a big saver. considering i have no job at moment i cant afford to be a big spender. [Patrin]

I'm probably the cheapest person in the world, but I do save also. I make sure I buy things I need first before things that I want. [Justareceptionist]
I am not cheap but I will do what you do Just and that is I will only buy what I need first. I used to spend money like it was going out of style but in the last year I had to tone it down because now my husband is making less so I have had to refrain. My husband does the food shopping and he is the type that will not buy a name unless its on sale and has a coupon. Most of the time he will buy the store brand. [seabeauty]

I am a spender, although right now, I am trying very hard to be a saver. We are trying to save every penny we can, in order to get out of debt and to buy a house. I think after this experience we will both end up being savers - we won't want to experience this again. It's very stressful, and I don't think that having had all the fun of spending the money is worth it. [cutepenguin]

I think I'm somewhat in the middle on this one. I do think I'm cheap when it comes to finding good deals. I'll do all sorts of research to find the best deal before buying something. If I don't get it at the cheapest price, I'll feel bad for a long while. However, while I do like to buy things for cheap, I buy a lot of things. There's no limit for me when it comes to buying things. So on one hand I like to save money on items, but then I'll go out and spend a lot on a variety of things. [jmoops]

I do a little of both. I never let my credit card balance get over $200 and always pay myself first out of my wages before anyone else. I have no stress or problems financially. Life is good. [rakinitin]

In regards with my money I save wherever I can no I do not spend every time I go out. I use coupons as well, and my bank sends me vouchers for the money I spend in their shops, I do buy some luxuries that I really need so buying saving in other ways I am able to buy them. [kathy77]

I am a saver, because I am short on money. I try to find whatever is cheaper, and try not to buy things that I don't really need. I've come to terms with myself and realize that I don't really need that much or that many things to be happy in my life. There are things that I like and enjoy and would like to have, but if they are not really a need, then, I just don't buy them! [berlinlife]

I have to describe on my budget. I am not a cheap person to save money. Today world is different for me i enjoy everyday life so i am enjoying a lot by spending money and not saving for tommorrows world. [vekyengineer]

I am not cheap. I am just careful about spending money. For electronic and other household thing I try to find mail in rebate offer to save money. Some time some things yuo can get at half of price using mail in rebate. I don't use coupon but surely I look for sale. [sweetlady10]

I'm pretty good with money. I like to save money as much as can so I'll use coupons & definately shop the sale items. But, I also am like you in that I do alot of research before I buy stuff. Especially when I was buying stuff for my little girl. I researched the cribs, car seats, strollers, breast pumps.. pretty much everything & then I didn't care how much it costed as long as it was SAFE & what I needed. But, I always love a GREAT DEAL!! [mommy2taylor1]

I spend and save. I wouldn't call saving money "cheap" it's being wise, after all money is very important. (in the way you really need it) Personally i would spend often but i don't. i like to keep money on the side but me and my still go out and have fun. (with our son of course) we never leave him =) ~Joey [joey_matthews]

I shop carefully, and I'm not much of a consumer, as far as the things that are advertised on TV, or that most people consider important. I get a lot my clothes and household items at a local thrift store, buy quite a few groceries at a dollar store, and recycle as much as possible. I use the bags from the grocery store instead of buying garbage bags. I'm on a fixed income now, but learned to manage money when I was young, so it's not a real problem now. [unusualsuspect]

I like to save money, but I tend to want to buy things and now instead of waiting and saving for them. But we do have a good amount of savings & a 401k along with other savings account. So I guess we do good on saving, but I know we could do much better then that we already do. [Penguinsangel]

Sometimes getting things that we thought are very cheap leads to false economy. Im not really into big names or what but i make sure that whatever i purchase its worth every penny of it. I am also into coupons, i meaan me and my hubby do our shopping at the store we're we get points everytime we spend and that point is converted into cash every three months and by that time its quite a big amount to add into the shopping again. I think im more of a saver. [wynna1]

I always go to stores like Wal-Mart where they have low prices. I only had a few dollars with me, so I buy only what I can afford that isn't too expensive. I buy things that are brand-name, but aren't expensive. [DuoMaxwell]

im a saver person. I dont buy things when its not neccesarry i just save my money for emergency purposes. I spent alot to foods. [niggard_tere]

Before I had a checking account, I was a great saver, but now I find all the money I work hard to save slipping through my fingers. I try to conserve whenever possible, and I feel that I have a better quality of life as a result. So I guess I would have to say I'm a little of both. I love to live cheap, but don't have a really large savings account. [lyndaj70]

I think I'm a spender. But I don't spend unless I'm not sure I have the budget to last until next pay day. But like you, I do researches first just to see if I'm really making the most of my money. [clod0327]

i have to say i am a frugal person i dont like to waste money.I guess im the type for instance if i know i can get something in the dollar store for$1 i woulnt want to pay $5 dollars somewhere else. Since becoming a stay at home i guess i spent a whole month checking out frugal websites but then i felt like i was getting a bit ridiculous and i wasnt accomplishing much and started to feel like is was being miserly so now i just take the middle course. If it is not too high and it is something I need i may get it but still a bit cautious .you wont catch me paying $200 for a handbag i tell you that. [tahiyya123456]

I wish I was frugal. I'm a spender. I try to hide money from myself in mutual funds, savings bonds, etc. so it's not so easy to get to it. I like IRAs too b/c I'm penalized if I take it out. I love sales though. I like to see 50% off or whatever and say, oh, I got a good deal. [apky12]

I'm a real spender! I spend my money before I have even gotten them. I borrow money from my mom early in the month and she gets them back in the end of the month when I get my real money. [jokerinthepack]

I'm a big spender, i cant keep my money and i cant even buy stuff because all i do is buy stupid stuff [BaHrAiNiA]

I'm like you, I do my research and get the best for my money. I love thrift stores, garage sales, ebay, etc. I love 75% off sales at the major dept. stores too. I tend to spend more on everyone else than me, but I do buy for me if I get a good deal. Money is too hard to come buy and I don't want to waste it. So I guess I'm a saver, I try to stretch it as far as I can. [applsofgld]

I am a frugal saver. I have still food coupons for Mc Donalds here with me. and when it comes to clothes I always buy on sale. [alchemistrx]

I think I'm actually a bit of both. Sometimes I'm really frugal with my cash and really watch what I spend. Other times, I'm pretty careless and spend a lot of cash and then feel a bit bad about it later. I try to clip coupons and everything else to save cash, but I also do what you do and research everything so I'm sure I get what's best for my money. [highflyingxangel]
haha! i also feel that way but just rarely, spending carelessly and feeling a little guilt afterwards. but i guess that's fun sometimes, too. [maryannemax]

It's good to be careful with your money. Live below your means and save because you never know what "Murphy" may throw at you. I think spending money on food is outrageous. If you can clip a coupon and get something a little cheaper, why not do it. Most people work hard for their money. There is no sense in throwing it away! [Meljep]

I'm just like you. I'm very frugal too. I have to be cos' we only live on one income. I do the coupons, sales, thrift stores, yard sales, etc. But I do spend on big ticket items as well if it's something we need but like you..with MUCH research. I always ask myself "Is this something I need or want?" before I buy anything. [Married2aMarine]

I believe in the saying whole-hearetdly that 'A rupee saved is a rupee earned'.But yes I do spend on the necessities of life and do not try to over-spend that's me. [anup12]

Im a saver i do have a savings of more than 18,000 at the bank and still saving more for my future amenities. Im not a spender after all i know how it hard to earn money this days and the fact that i havent found a stable job its worth if i will save for my future. [benedict1023]

Yes, I spend my money lot... and thats my Bad habit.... When I try to Save, finally it ends in a big expense :( [keyarsrini]

I have tried to do a little of both but in this day and age it is difficult with the prices of everything scy-rocketing and money not going as far as it use to. [Island_Geko]

i have always been a big spender... and most of the time i regret spending too much for nothing... if i just saved even $20 per pay day, i could have saved a lot now... now i am on my late 20's and haven't saved at all... I need to really change my spending habit and i hope it would really work this time. [arvee17]

I am on the cheap side, because i really know wat i would spend once when i enter a shopping area. Even if i control of shopping a lot my husband used to spend a lot on things while shopping. So i have thought that i should definitly be on the saving end so that if my husband is on spending it get equalised. [kpbhuvana]

I am a total saver. Like you, I don't consider myself "cheap," just frugal. I like to make sure I am getting the most for my money, but I will splurge once in awhile. I don't clip coupons much, but usually buy the generic brand instead which is still cheaper (I'm also horrible at remembering to actually give the coupon to the cashier, so it doesn't help me very often, they just sit in my wallet until they expire). [theproperator]

i am a lot of a tightwad. im always tend to look for cheaper prices on sale online and buy the cheapest. i always want to have money left if i wanna buy something. if i dont have a lot, then i wont buy the item. [00fear]

I try to be frugal. We have a tiny income so there is corner cutting and cooking from scratch. Most of our income is straight to bills and necessities...so I don't save near as much as I need to. [mnksmommy]

I am very cheap. i will save my money. [rishi_friend]

i am a middle class man with middle calss mentality, i dont like to waste money on unnessary things. but i dont like to compramise with the quality for sake of saving few bucks either. you are right, as there is a saying in hindi which means - 'standard buyer cries only once while buying, the cheaper one cries many times even after buying (as he has to spend money on repairing and maintainece of the product !). thanks . [hariramyadav1950]

I am very cheap.I will save my money. [rishi_friend]

sometimes! i want to save my money if theres one things that i want to buy but mostly i spend my money in buying foods i love to eat so much but still im so skiny even i eat a lot of foods =)spend my money in a very important things buying some clothes and some materials that i need in my studies. [uchicha]

i think im a wise spender..since im the bread winner in the family, i need to budget all the expenses since i am dividing the money to myself (coz i live far from home) and home... [geejoy]

I cut out coupons of course and stuff like that. But my mom does more coupons then me. But I try to save when I can with those. However, I am a TERRIBLE saver otherwise! I spend my money WAY too quickly, and though I do save for some things its really hard for me to save much at all. Its not great to do this and my hope is with my next job I will finally learn to save after bills and stuff for something important! [monkeywriter]

hey buddy each one have got their views of spending money .I usually try to like save as much as possible so that i could use them for future use.So u could like call me a saver.I also believe that saving money can help you think wiser also and you get to know about how well you could manage at times of crisis. [manonmayi]

I am spender. :( I spend a lot for my friends and for food. At the end of the day find myself at a trickier situation, but I never learn, each time I earn something, my friends ask for treat, and I spent a large portion of my earning on that. I should learn. [cultoffury]

I must say I am a saver. I don't have a job and I'm still studying. I basically rely on my parents allowance so I really need to save a lot because who knows when a big project is coming. But there are times that I buy stuffs that I want to. But for sure I look for a store with less price but good quality. There was a clothes depot a bit far away from our house. It sells designers clothes but half the price. I always buy my clothes there starting from shirts to blouses, pants and shorts. I do save a lot from there. Some people might think that I am a bit spender because of my clothes but little did they know that I got it for half a price. One more thing, if there's a food in the house I rather eat it than eat outside. The food at home is free. [klystron635]

me too nothing wrong in it. to be a saver you probably increase your increment to you and your family, you slightly grow your countries economy. you become cheap person when you cheat others for saving your money. your not going to cheap man by cutting coupons thereby searching for discounts etc..... but at the same time you shouldn't look always for discounts even though few companies offer it. first of all we should think about the quality of product then only discounts. i hope you understand my reply Ok bye Thanks Have fun in Mylot Enjoy Mylot Have a great Day [nkarthick]

Actually i spend more money. I save money depends upon the product i wil buy. We can spend money for a quality product. First we should have a research about the product then we can buy. In order to get a product we have to enquire about the product information and market value for that product. I am always spend money for a quality product..... [goki_vijay]

I spend but i am a firm believer that one part of my earning must go into a saving, otherwise i spend i eat well i like to wear good clothes, i like to live in a nice home, but only if i am able to save a part of my earning every month. [rubypatson]

i save, before i spend my money i make it a point that i save a little for the future. for emergency purposes i intend to buy things that are basic and i am not into luxury or anything that is not needed, i take care of my finances wisely. [krislouiebaby]

I am pretty good with my money lately. When I lived back in Halifax I never tried to save money, and just had enough to live on. Now I have a few hundred stashed away just as a rainy day fund and more in my bank. I cut coupons too...I go to save.ca and have them sent to me on a regular basis, and while this doesn't save alot of money, it sure does add up over the course of a year. [candygurl24]

I am a also like you. I spend many minutes in a supermarket trying to look for a cheaper one or those that have discounts but those that have qualities. I want to save money as much as possible because it is too hard to earn money this time. I don't want that my family will suffer one day because I am spending too much. [marymarj2002]

I spend on necessities and save on extravagances. [Bangalorean]

I am a broke college student and am very frugal with my little money! but I find that there is a difference from being Cheap and Being Frugal. I think that ppl think that not tipping is a way to save money and frankly it is just rude, unless they person does a poor job it is just proper in the US to tip and not doing so is being cheap, not frugal so ppl need to be careful as to what they try to do to save money. [jen_2006]

oh poor me i'm really a bog spender. when i have money i feel like spending it eventhough it is not necessary to spend. i'm trying to save now! [chellicks]

i am a super saver, i think a lot b4 buying something bcoz money doesnt come easily and i make sure my money is not going waste. so spend wisely and live happily [ahmedmohiuddin]

I am alway out looking for a bargin when out shopping , i even purchase cheap bargins at the reject shop etc . I also purchase last seasons Clothing .And i recyle as much as I can !!! [traceyleeappel]

iam actually not cheap but i save my money at times when i think it should be. and i dont think that saving money is a cheap thing, i belive saving money is other kind of intelligence. [amerkhan987]

Well, people want to save. "For the future", they say. But what really happens is that they often just wish they could save more because most people tend to spend more than they can afford. Here's a tip, why don't we try to develop the habit of saving first before you spend, rather than otherwise. One more, equip yourself with the right tools. Learn simple personal finance, read books, use the internet. I'm sure you can get enough information to get you started. [ekk0013]

I spend more than I should but then what I do save, I usually invest. I take the time to research the investments and make sure I have a good understanding of what it is I'm doing. you're welcome to ask if you have a questions! [nw1911guy]

sure i will save in bank if i could in swiss bank thank you [mr_ilham]

i am a big saver because i am yet a student [dennymania]

i tried so much to save but unsuccessful whenever i see what i love i spent on it .but never go beyond the limitation . generally i spent my money to go cybercafe ,buying interesting Books and fooding outside. [deep05_1982]

I dont think i am frugal at spending money. I can say that coz i never really have too much money left at the end of the month. And I definitely believe in buying the best specially when they are items you can use for a longer period of time like a car or a digi cam. [bindishah]

sometimes i spend a lot because i eat a lot and my allowance is just enough for the fare and for my savings. please give me tips of how to sepnd cheap or how to be thrifty enough in budgeting. [denden]

well , ... i am a very open person , never use to save money .... i think its hard for me to save ...lol .... [white_snake]

i dont save i think money kept in the safe is good for nothing the only way you can utilise it is by spending it [samar619]

if i have some money i give it readily to my wife for the spending spree..and i jsut ask some allowance from it..all have to be budgeted now a days ... [gemini1960]

yesh i 2 save a lot by downloading cracks for the Software instead of paying [paganlord]

yes i agree with u and even i save the money a lot as i know that if we save the money today the money will save us tomarrow , and that is the fact. so i dont waste my money unnecessarily and i only use it when it is needed a lot. thank u very much . [pyadiki]

me i think im a saver and as well as spender because i save money for about a month and then spend for about a week or even a day. im also looking for sale or discount when im buying stuff or foods but when i buy something that i really like i dont mind even without discounts. [topsnav]

I am always spends the money...According to me money is for spending only not for saving..I am here to earn money and spend it......Always i dont care for the future because its not certain and that too not in our hands its all in the hands of god so in this uncertain world i love to spend money more than time.... [Ajaygosh]

I don't really think that I am 'cheap', persay, but I do have a gift of being able tospend systematically and safe in smart ways. I'm not one of those teenagers that gets their paycheck, spends it in a few days, then waits impatiently to gobble up their next one. I think its all a matter of setting yourself a budget and a 'saving' budget and sticking to it. I spend like crazy, but as ong as I stick to my budget, I'm very good at saving, too. [Kaorin]

From my earnings nearly 90 percent i spend and rest 10 percent i will save for certain purpose....... [chatyang420]

Well i'm a bit of both, just like you I try to save money by buying things on sale but when it comes to items like cars, hi-tech items and other stuff I spend like there is no tomorrow, I do mostly research online and believe me I can do it for hours! So I'm both a saver and a spender, perhaps a little heavy on the spender ;) [vampirestonez]

I try to save as much as possible, but I think I spend more lol [chanfrado]

I'm a little of both, I love to spend, but only when I get really good deals, lol. If I'm doing my groceries, I'll stock up on the sale items and buy things in bulk to save money. But I also love to shop so I'm constantly looking for deals. [XxAngelxX]

i am suuuch a spender! i can't save to save my life! oh well i guess i'd have to learn now...but still! i won't be able to resist a sale, or just plain walk past it. i HAVE to go inside and see if there's something for me to buy. i just recently bought a pair of shoes i had no idea when/where to wear, but it was on sale. :( boo. good for you that you save!!! [janjabu]

Well i spend when i have it and dont when i dont have.i am very very frank in this matter.I do save some but i have to spend too. [Bhutto]

Most of the time i am a saver. I save much when my money is not that big. Like when i go making my grocery, i should go to an items that have a less price where i can buy more than go to a big item that has big price. When i do this i spend less and i can buy other things that is important and so that i can also save money for the future. I always looking for a sale or discount for me to stretch my money. I go dining to a cheaper restaurants. I buy cheaper shirts or jeans but has a good quality of fabric. [cherriemae]

I'm definitely a saver. I shop around for the best deals on everything. I don't buy something unless I really need/want it and will often wait for it to go on sale or decide I don't need it after all. [brimia]

Hi Deedee! You know that i have not much money to spend or save. All my pocket money is just sufficient to purchase devices for my lab.Next time i will go to the nearby reseller for selling my old equipments.I think that in this way i can earn some money.I have one of my friends who will share his thought a lot but not even money.I like to save some but i don't know. How to do that? [ashumit02]

I am not a spender or a saver. I have to watch what I spend because I have bills to pay and 2 teenagers that want everything. I clip coupons to use at the grocery store, make lunch for my husband to save, do errands only if I have to. [mimatexas]

I don't saving any money, I am a younger girl, and I do a regulary job, but my salary is low, I must spend these money for food and dress and rent apartment, it spend all of my money. If I get a good job with high salary, I will take the 30% into bank or invest, the other wil spend for fod and dress, I think it is good. [cindy83]

I think everybody is like you, its a human nature that wants to pay less and buy best ie cheap and best. I use to shortlist the items that I need but do not have a immediate requirement and look for sale, so that I have to pay less. [ajay22]

I have to admit that I am more of a saver than I am of a spender. I am quite a spendthrift when it comes to money, and I do not purchase anything that is not a necessity to me or the family. I try to look for discounts whenever I can. I check and compare the prices of similar items and buy those that are priced the lowest. If there are available discount coupons, then I do use them in order to save more money. [ernst111]

I am a saver I will look for the biggest discounts and also go through rebate programs in order to get the best deal and the rebate. It drives my husband crazy exspecially for big purchases because I will do so much research. I also cut coupons. I save as much as possible so that when I retire I will have money and not have to work forever. I think it's worth it. [limosonia1]

I am a saver. I also wise when it comes to money. When shopping, I look for items that are high-quality and low-cost. In that way, I can save money. I am not a cheap person. I am a wise spender and saver. [weezy250m]

i do save but i also try to spend for myself. however, i don't buy too expensive branded clothes. just like you, i usually buy when there's a mallwide sale. it's one way to spoil myself while not overspending. i love to see my money grow in my bank account. so, i always try to save some. [maryannemax]

Hmmm... there is a time to save and a time to spend. You save for your holidays, then spend it all whilst you are there! haha... Seriously though, I do believe that balance is the key to life. You have to have everything as equal as possible to remain calm and happy throughout your life. :) [Rittings]

I try saving all money because i dont like to spend a lot of money in a short time, in addition i prefeer to keep saving it in a bank, have a nice day on mylot and happy earnings also. [blanksolid]

i'm a saver mor! even if when thewr is the occasion i spend to much!!!! [754937286506548667]

I cut coupons as well, try to hit the sales, buy generic brands of certain things, but to be honest, I am a spender... what I save on one thing, I spend on another. It seems like it balances, but I guess I really am not saving much! [fieryeyedwriter]

hmmmm it really on the situation i think like when i have the money i will buy the most good quality one but when i am sort of money and i really need that stuff i will consider for the cheaper price one as long the quality is not that bad. most of the time i prefer to save first so i can get what i want with the top quality. especially when i buy something very expensive one, i will do more research and then make the decision. one most imporatant one is i do not like to rush to buy thing. the reason behind that is only because there are always better invention compare to present at this time i mean. [kawaiipooh]

i go for steals. people were complaining about most of what I give them. They said they all stink. i couldn't care less whatever they say. I don't spend a lot except for some fruit drink like lemon tea. lol [jackie_mmm]

whenever i have money, i love to spend it bcz as i think currencies are just a piece of paper if you dont spend it. actually money is always to spend. the only thing i keep in mind is that the it must be utilised in the best way possible. that means save only that much which will avoid you to borrow money from others in emergencies. and rest you can spend in shopping for your needs and for other good purposes. [amitsanger]

i am a spender.i buy what i want.i like to spend money rather than keep it and have nothing to use.i change my phone six times.i don care about money. .. [kerbausama]

I love shopping for bargins. Sometimes I will see something in the store and say...wow, they sure do have a bunch of these! Then I'll look at the price tag and think it is really now worth it so I'll just wait a week or two...this will be half price! It is definitely a savings to use coupons if you get in the habit. I used to be a clipper and refunder and I made several hundred dollars a month (cash back) plus saved up to 50% on groceries. [kareng]

I am not a good saver of money. Now a days I am trying to save money as far as possible. I have put a big pot in my room and is trying to put all the coins I am getting. I am also trying to save some money in the bank from this year onwards. I am trying to figure out which all ways I am spending money and is trying to reduce as far as possible the money I am spending. I think I am spending lots of money on unnecessary things. I had a belief if I spend money I will get money as I spend. Sometimes it happened to be the days I am left with empty pockets because I am spending too much money. [ajithlal]

i am almost like you. but i wont spend more time in search of discounts. when i find some item which is worthy for me, then i m sure i will buy it at anycost. recently i read one joke where they mentioned that.... mens will buy an item for $20 which is of $10 worth (which they require) womens will buy an item for $10 which is of $20 worth (which they donot require) just a joke enjoy being saver.. [thyaga03]

I am spendthrifty. I never spend much on anything. Actually my needs and requirements are very less and simple. I speend generally a small sum on home matters. Homely things are too few in numbers and they are very simple. Everybody at home feels this way and follows the decorum very religiously. When it comes to purchasings things like books, cassets of good songs and VCDs of off-beat films I am just unsparing like anything. In that case money does not matter on my mind. Actually I believe in quality of life on which I generally do not compromise. I believe in the idea of enjoying life. Consumption is a taboo in my life. So as my requirements and needs are always controlled by my conscience, I always remain poised mentally. So you people can say that I am spendthrifty. I never spend unsparingly. [Kayzzaman]

i guess i am a saver too. i normally shop on the first couple of days of sales. that ensures i get some good stuff. and rarely do i spend any more money than warranted. [rohitnair13]

I try to save my money as much as possible.I spend only minimum amount of money just as much that is required to live on.But i maintain my standard too.Spending minimum money means by maintaining the standard .I dont indulge into much luxuries. Its useless according to me. [redeagle]

I think I am in both ways.I save and I do spend too.I will prefer something that is good and user friendly.A product that is durable that can last very long.So I don't mind about the price. The most important that is I can use it happily and fits my needs. And of course something I can afford! I do love spending money and saving money.I think aiming to save some money is a good habit. For your future planning. [adrianngan]

well i m bit moderate on spending as well on saving.. i spend around 60% of my earnings and save 40% in bank deposits , stocks and bonds. [chintan_inc]

u usually spend every cant i get, but i´m also unemployeed, so woul anybody expect more.. [tellus]

money is meant to spend...but its all upto ones experience and outlook as to how to spend it.I always make sure to the point that while spending money i get back the worth of my product...and it is very important to choose the right kind of thing while investing. Its always better to be economical but get the best out of it. [neerja]

am not that cheap but somethings i am [chineduojohn]

I am frugal when need be, but I do like to spend money on mostly food, cos I love to eat [fiyahcreation]

I love to save, but that's usually not an option with the real world continually happening out there, lol. [pendragon]

Before I buy something, I usually look at every store to find the cheapest one. Well ofcourse not with everything. If I want something and have the money for it, I just buy it. With Victoria Secret and Bath and Body Works, I wait til they have their mid-year sale. I also look in Ebay for bargains. [marief2rnurse]

till now my savings are nil! i am very poor at it! [Tanushree4444]

I am the saver and my dear husband is the spender. He spends even when we dont have it. I will say he did save us this year he always saves his change in a jar and we used it when we really needed it. Its a good idea to do that. [TerryZ]

I am certainly not cheap. If i need to buy a product like my computer.. i always try to get a product that is of very good quality as it is more reliable, best value for money as it lasts longer, requires less servicing costs, is efficient. Though i like to be frugal try to get best bargains for the products, do some research for it. And only buy that is essential. So i like to be frugal, am more of saver. [banta78]

I am always looking for money making opportunities. Currently, i invest most of my allowance in MLM and some other places. I dont save at all. I am hoping to reap the bonus from the investments and then pay my debts before starting a saving. I can hardly feed myself during rainy days and i feel that i would have to persevere before i really see the results. I am hoping that my efforts will pay off. I am very money conscious now than the past. I used to spend all my money on food, now i am spending on investments. [saintz87]

i dont know if i would call it being cheap - but maybe a wise spender - i cut coupons also but tend to forget them at home when i go shopping. i dont think that some people realize just how much they can save when they compare prices to amounts that your actually getting. [dtc06180]

hii...i wish i could be you...on the contrary..iam a very big spendthrift..iam a sailor..n i get paid well..but i need to work hard ..stay away from family..stilll i donot think twice before spending my hard earned money..the irony is i spend very little money for me..most of money is spent buyin gifts for my relatives..n goin for eatouts..i hardly spend money for myself. infact i think 100 times before i buy an expensive shirt or shoes for me...and most of the i end up not buying it...my parents advice me a lot...that i gotto cut on my spending..but i just cant...i don kno how right iam...but i get gr88 happiness spending for others [ranishravindran]

I am defiantely a cheap one. We live on one income so we sort of have to be. I clip coupons and stock up on sale items. Id like to think everything we eat was on sale but id guess closer to 75% was. I think even if we had more money I would still be frugal though. A rich man is rich because he counted his pennies. It is smart to do research on things before buying them, especialy if it is a big ticket item like a car or expensive electronics. [happythoughts]

I christmas shop all year long- when I find a good deal or clearance and it screams someones name, I will buy it and put it in the closer until bday or christmas. It works out well, for my grand daughter, in the fall I buy her summer clothes on clearance, and in the spring- I get her jackets and winter clothes. After christmas I also take advantage of the toy clearance and if there is something she likes, I get it. In the end it saves me money! [Lush_heidi]

I think i'm a spender. I mean, I don't have a lot of money, but every time I get some, i'm wasting it on clothes or shoes. When I do shopping, and I see something I like, I just buy it. My friends always tell me to keep searching for something better, but what for? I already found something I like. Ofcourse that when it comes to big things such as car, I keep searching for a better one and with a better price. This is a big thing, and you must to keep search for something better. [ILANEDRI]

We the people at Mylot are very much anxious to earn, why? We need money to invest or spend it some where in the market.Similar is my opinion. [hktambia]

i am very cheap, being a pennyless student, recently i had to give up my job too, because of Medical problems, so yay .. i have no money sometimes i lose my mind and spend a lot of money on useless stuff (120 $ of soap all together, expansive soap ...) [Annarella83]

i think some times i am cheap i some times go to 2 different food stores to get a food cuz some thongs are cheaper at one then the other other times i just do it at one and get it done. i will also hide money so when b-days and x-mas come around i have some extra to spend. [aretha]

I am not a cheap person but im not a very big spender also. it's like when i have money and no need for anything particular i wanna spend them with my friends or girlfriend feeling good, if i need them for some reason or for buying something i can save them as well. [pablofrancisco]

I would have to say I would be in the middle . I cut coupons and always look for sales also , but I love to shop and even though I will buy the sale items , I have a hard time saving my money . I can if I know we have bills to pay but if I see something on sale that I think one of my children will like , I will have a hard time not picking it up ,even though they may not require it at this time . I have already started on my Christmas for next year and have a few things for Easter so far . [samtaylorskykierajen]

In true sense i am an exrtravagent....but when ever its something which created addiction and prompt us to waste our money regularly on it ..then i have that capability to control myself....that time i am so judicious about my expense....so overall you can say that even being a extravagent , i m a saviour of money.... [saunty]

I am not cheap and also not expensive. I cant guess when I am cheap and expensive. Still I am a student and my income is not stable. So When I recieved money Iam expensive and when the money reaches 0 Iam cheap [Thiru178]

No one can be cheaper than me, I am the only one in my home who thinks its better to save for the future. And this makes my family to think that im very cheap. [cooldudepankaj]

For me I will saving 10% from my salary whatever situation.Try to imagine,if we need money usd 3000.00 for next ten month for buying something,we must saving atleast usd 300 a month. For next ten month we already have a money without fear and tear. [nizayu]

reasonable spending is different from being stingy. Spend where necessary and how much needed is judicious spending.where buses are available i take bus. where it is not frequent i take other transport. The same principle every where. [Buchi_bulla]

i'm tight with my money but spend most of it. i know it doesn't make sense but i buy cheap stuff and stuff on sale so that i get more for my money. [poppoppop111]

i use to spend money where i need to, i have some planing to do so. if i have more money i spend any where i want. [shineison]

hey most of us r like u. it is good to think and spend even if u spend very less becoz its ur hard earned money and u hav full rights to spend in a way u want.. [elavarashan]

I save my money caz i play a game who has a prize of 2000$ at 10 days. if u want to buy extrabonus u must pay for it, u must have paypal to buy it. i`m from romania and romanians dont have paypal credits, and a have a romanian friend who live in belgium he can by them. i`ll save my money and give them all and buy some extra bonus:) [Rontzy]

Well I am not very cheap nor a fond of spending money. It depends upon the situation I only spen money when I thinks that it is necessary to spend. I dont spend it uselessly because money is difficult to earn but easy to have fun with. well I have collected a lot of coupens but it never comes true :( Now if I got any coupen I dont remember the date of draw. [white_snake]

hello i am not cheap i spend alot of money on my friend sbut never on a girl . why? i dont know if u got the right answer then u sholud teel me too will u tell me? ok thanks bye bye [asimmunir]

Yes I love a bargain. two or three weeks ago my wife and I had a day out, we went for a meal at our local supermarket, paid mostly by Luncheon Vouchers (earned by doing some internet surveys), total cost £1.25, went to a catalogue shop (Argos), where we bought some goods, paid by points earned by using a credit card, and received £2.20 cash back, went to the cinema paid for it by vouchers got from another internet site (which gives points for buying goods through them), and bought some ice - cream (had to pay the full price for that) £3.50. So the whole day out cost around £2.50. Using the internet makes finding bargains much easier than it used to be. I've bought ink for my Epson Printer for £0.99 each, when Epson charges £24.99 for their equivalent, the price has now gone up to £2.99 for the ink, still a bargain though. [Eskimo]

i always go for sale. i mean, who doesn't? but yes, try to pamper yourself once in a while to. i think we should all just try to strike a balance between saving for the future and compensating ourselves for our hardwork. and i don't think that going for sale would qualify a person as "cheap". i even go for Surplus items on sale coz i don't see the point of having to spend so much on an item. things normally go thru wear and tear so it's wise not to spend all your dimes on just one item. but then again you have to put in a good investment for important stuff like a house, a car, appliances coz the cheapest ones can't really guarrantee long shelf life, right? [diannebcrs]

It depends on my money situation. If I have a little extra spending money I'll look at the clearance racks in the mall. Or buy a starbucks Coffee since normally for me- it's a fancy treat. If I'm running low, I'll become picky about every purchase. I'll make sure there isn't another form of the product I'm buying that is less expensive. [the_dreamer2005]

I save by buying quality stuffs so it lasts longer. it's not cheap in the beginning but it is in the long run. I also don't buy I don't need. We get to save faster that way. [LittleMel]

I am not cheap and I wouldn't call myself a big spender. I just like to get the best I can get for my money. I use a lot of coupons. I just love to save money on things. So I guess I would be considered a big saver and not a big spender. [cabergren]

I would have to classify me and my other half as savers as opposed to spenders. We are more interested in holding on to more of the money we make as opposed to just literally blowing it on nothing. I don't think that it's smart to spend all your money without putting some away for your retirement or just to save for future necessities or just as a safety blanket. I know from personal experience it's better that we put money aside for the things we want to do. That way when the time comes, we aren't racing to find money under a Rock or something. I know that my other half & me didn't put money aside for a long period of time. And we found ourselves in a rut because when there was an emergency.. We had to take it from the money that we barely had already.. It ended up setting us back & causing the time before next pay day to be incredibly difficult. There we're times where we had to literally eat certain foods all the time that we're the same because that is all we had in the house. And bills came first always. Now because I budget for me & my other half each pay day. We put money aside to save up. We have a savings envelope, but we also have.. An emergency fund envelope just in case if there was something ever to happen.. We'd have a back up plan.. So I consider us to be really good at saving money instead of blowing it away on things we don't really need. I know that I have personally always tried to put aside money from when I worked at previous jobs so that if there came a day where I needed some money, it was there. When I met my other half he had very little when it came to savings. I'd like to believe I taught him something about the value of a dollar. He thinks more when he goes shopping and that's big to me. I don't like to waste money so any way that I can find for us to get some of it back I will go ahead and take advantage of it. For example just recently we bought a computer desk for around two hundred dollars. We just found it on sale at the same place for thirty dollars cheaper than what we bought it for. I had my other half take the receipt back and get a price adjustment for it from them. They gave us the thirty dollars back and we're very helpful in the first place. I know that whenever we need something for the kitchen, whether it be a utensil or a certain sized bowl we don't have, I can count on a dollar store to have what we need. I don't need some high priced department store item when I can find the same thing at a dollar store for a better price. As well, the quality between both of those places is really not that much. I believe that sometimes the things you get at a dollar store can even be better than a major retail chain department store. I don't know why more people don't go ahead and try to find ways of saving more money by doing things such as this. I believe that doing comparative shopping leads to a person getting the best price on any item they want to buy. Whether they get it at a department store or a dollar store it doesn't matter, as ling as it serves it's purpose and has the best price. I also do like you do & will cut out coupons when it comes to certain products. Or I will even go ahead & look at the coupon bulletin board when I go grocery shopping just to get a few dollars off of the products I am wanting to purchase on that specific pay day. I find it truly can help a person save on a great deal of money by doing things such as this! In conclusion I think it is very smart for people to look at the price they are paying for something and think to themselves are they getting the best price or is there a cheaper one out there? The only way they can find this out is by doing some price comparisons to see who has the best price on it. It's worked the best for me and my other half I know that for sure! . . Thanks for allowing me to share! xx [babyhar]

I am definately cheap. I will look at what my absolute needs are before spending a dime on other "non essentials". I try to save a minimum of 30% of my net income (the other 70% go to such frivolous stuff such as food, rent and transportation). [searcher625]

I spend every penny that I make. Often I don't even get a chance to put any of my money in savings. I usually have my entire paycheck spent on credit cards or other bills before I have even earned the money. [hcromer]

I live on a very limited budget, it doesn't allow for more that a $20 play around. I do not have money for a lot of thing I don't need, So before I make any purchase I I research it out, I plan on how I am going to pay for it. Like my computer. I have wanted one for years, but couldn't because I wasn't in the position to pay for INTERNET,So I waited and waited, The last summer it all fell into place. The phone company I have dealt with for years had a special, sign up for 3 years and get a monitor screen, So I went to my favorite computer store and asked if they had any good deals, The manager said not at the moment, but give me you phone number and i will call you as soon as I can get you a deal. With in 2 weeks he found me a deal, as well as 6 month no payments no interest, no nothing,.As you can see Here I am and having a blast. so cheap I may be, but I am happy with me and that is what counts in the long run [RobinJ]

I was a spender. Way before, but then at that time I could be:) Nowadays I am a saver. I do the same as you, before I buy some thing big, I do lots of research and I wait some time if I can . In my everyday purchases I do not pay extra for brand names I look for quality but don't get sidetracked by big brands and big names. THe only thing I rarely use is coupons because I tend to forget them anyways:) But I looks for sales, discounts and sometimes even wait for them to buy something - if I can. Cheap? I"m not sure, I just pay attention and don't let the names or the big ads distract me. [arkaf61]

I truly am both a saver and a spender. I always bargain hunt. For everything. Even 99% of my "Name brand" clothes (which i don't care IF I own them or not) are at 50% discounts or higher because of a store closing LOL So I WILL Spend extravagantly, on gifts or Travel - but overall I save as much as possible on every thing I own or buy for others! [maria80]
But I also get the best deal for my money as you do, even if it does cost more in the end It depends on the item :) [maria80]
