How Much Are You Paying For Gas

Lately, I hear about the gas prices on the news every day. I often wonder how our community compares to other communities when it comes to gas prices. Well you are not going to believe this but there is a site called Maps in the news and it is sponsored by Utopia. It has the gas prices all over the United States. Now you can compare your communities gas prices with other communities. Gas prices is not the only thing that you can compare. If there is anything on the news that has a map, it is on this site. How cool is that? Whether you want see the maps of the War in Iraq, the Israel-Lebanon War or just the Gas Prices in the United States, you can access those maps online and check them out. Glance toward the middle of the page. With the maps in the news (for instance, the maps of the war ridden countries), you can click on the link of the one you want to view and it takes you to a really huge listing of maps from that area. That covers not only the geography of the area, but also places like airfields, the routes prisoners took and much more. I really suggest that you explore this site, because there are just so many options to go through. Underneath those main few maps in the news, there is More Maps link underneath them and just above the RSS feed link. There you can access the whole collection of maps, including links to maps on other sites. Now scroll down the page, still looking at the middle section, you can check out the other map exhibitions. I love to look at maps of other countries. Wow! I also posted this discussion on gather and I was amazed at the variations on prices of gas being paid across the US. I found that I get a summary of the country's history to read, as well as, several maps to look at. The maps are: Country Maps, City Maps and Historical Maps. Each one has several options for viewing them also. You will love this and so will your older children. Check this site out here. http://utopia.utexas.edu/maps/index.html

We paid a thousands dollar for gas a month because we travel everyday.Thats part of our job its expensive but we need too. [subrecary]

well i am not sure how much it is now bu last Monday when i gt gas it like 2 .45 i think i just cant remember right now. [kebpete]

Here in Alberta the oil Capitol of Canada were are paying the exhorbitant amount of 92.5 cents per litre. If you just do a quick conversion a pint is about the same size as a litre. 4 pints is a gallon so = $3.70 per gallon give or take a few mililetres which are like ounces. lol [AskAlly]
In Israel, we pay NIS 5.23 a liter. Which turns out to be $1.25 a litre turns out to be $5.26 a gallon. We fill up once a week. We have a Mitsubishi Space wagon, and I car pool the kids to school everyday. [rachael5760]

Gas prices here in Australia keep going up then down a little then up more but it never comes right down to where it was, I can't helping thinking we are a;; getting ripped off a bit while big companies are cashing in... [lilaclady]

Wow, the gas price map is really pretty cool and unfortunately all to accurate. It does seem like the prices go down a little then up a lot, then down a little then up a lot. Notice a pattern here. Wonder if they have one on heating oil prices. I looked but did not see it. Nice site. Thanks. [Debs_place]

Hi there gas prices are about 99.6 for one liter I am glad that I do not have to buy gas. but I still pay for it at the grocery store as all the food and stuff has to be brought in, I guess it is just going to be that way. What I and every one ask is why do they fluctuate so wildly and frequently. A long weekend and up go the gas prices, I recall one time I was working at 7 eleven and this guy comes in and he is steamed. What the he// is going on this morning they were 9 cents a liter cheaper. I smiled and said it is all our boss"s fault, Well finally some one fessing up why they raises the price. Yes I said he is supposed to be on a diet, and get exercise, well every morning he has to walk by the pastry isle and the candy bars are right next to his office, so he is having a problem so now he thought if he had to run up and down the ladder to change the sign he might burn of a lot of calories, so far today he has been out on the ladder 4 times, So now you know why the prices keep changing. Thank you have a lovely day. He smiled and paid with out a comment. My boss overheard this an told head office. I think it is a much better than the spin they are putting out these days [RobinJ]

i live in the uk. in my area petrol / gas pices are £0.93 per litre, which is equivilent to $6.88 per US gallon [4ftfingers]
Wow if we had to pay $6.88 per gallon in the US I think we all would definitely be broke. And I thought $2.60 was expensive. My Goodness! [redstrawberry113]

Hi,Villageanne! thanks you so much for that link.I will definately have to give that a try.It sounds that it is very educational and that's something I really like. [66jerseygirl]

The gas map was interesting. I'm 3rd from the bottom...from between $2.48-$2.60. I had heard California went about $3 a gallon recently! Wanted to see gas prices around the world, but couldn't figure out how to get to that. [estherlou]
here in virginia we are paying anywhere between 2.39-2.56 a gallon it costs me anywhere between 50-70 to fill my van up with gas depending on how low far i let my gas tank go down for the cheap stuff. My friend who lives in california says that the gas prices for the cheap stuff costs 3.11 a gallon. In arlington virginia they are paying 3.00 [mamaof4toddlers]

right now in ohio we are paying between $2.49 and $2.55 per galloon. Does not look like it is going down anytime soon. Why or why did I not buy gas stock when gas was only $1.00 per galloon. I could retire now. [harwoodkp]
In sweden we pay about $5 per gallon. [nator666]

To answer your question simple as I can. Our prices are up to $3.05 here in Oceanside, California (last I looked). They go up sometimes at least 5 cents within the next day or a few hours later. I swear they go up THAT fast sometimes. GGGRRR I hate rising gas prices! :(( [monkeywriter]

Here in las vegas nevada we pay around 2.45 per gallon. Not to bad considering we are a tourist town. I have family near San Diego California and they pay over 3. 00 per gallon. It seems crazy these gas prices. But the say it depends on your states taxes. i think thats an excuse. You know i have a question. If we have all these Taxes on gas and cigarretes. Why dont we have these high taxes on beer and alcohol? Just a thought. [tootsie101]
I agree. Tax the alcohol. It's only fair. Alcohols causes just as much trouble as cigarettes, often more! [AmbiePam]

I added the site to my favorites. It's really cool. I can't believe how one day gas is semi-affordable, and the next a person seriously has to consider walking those 5 miles to church! Gas here is $2.47 a gallon currently. [AmbiePam]

I live in Las Vegas, NV USA and we are at about $2.85 a gallon. I work in Primm, NV which is located on the California/Nevada border and gas prices are $3.07 a gallon. I think that Primm is usually comparable to Los Angeles prices. My parents live in MN and their gas is like 40 cents cheaper. Geez I am so glad I just moved out here. I don't even want to know what it is going to be when the summer comes. Guess I need to write some more here on MyLot just to keep driving my car! [houdini16409]
Hey, that's exactly what I'm using the money from mylot for - gas money! ; ) [AmbiePam]

The gas prices around here, in the beautiful state of Colorado, are at $2.52. I work from home so I'm glad I don't have to drive to work. I have noticed that my grocery bills are about $20-$30 more than they have been in the last few months. That takes a bite out of the wallet. I have six people to feed and I try to keep it around $150 a week. But that's impossible now. I will be glad when my garden is going strong and I don't have to buy vegies at the grocery store. At least I will be able to save money that way. [cocowgirl29]

I just bought gas today here in California. I knew it was over 3 dollars a gallon, but had to take a peak at my receipt to see the exact price, which was $3.12 a gallon. I ended up getting almost 8 gallons for $25.00 and that didn't even give me a full tank for my little 4 cylinder pickup. [sacmom]

I paid about $0.99 a litre (Canadian) for gas, I usually spend about $20 a week on gas since I tend to only commute within my town. It's quite incredible though how much it has increased since I started driving, I remember when it was only $0.55 a litre...those were the days! [prisidio]

Right now here in Vancouver, we are paying, at peak times, the extortionate amount of $1.13 per Litre!! At other times it's around $1.07 per litre. Extortionate to be brutally honest lol. I believe we're the only province in Canada that are paying such high prices for gas right now, and I can tell you that it's angering more than a few people if the Metro paper is anything to go by. [retardedrugrat]

Neat gas map! I'm in the burbs of Detroit and gas is about 2.50 a gallon here. It's killing me! I wish it would go down on the same scale it goes up by. The price is insane. [acuityplague]

I am curious in this issue...with so many variations in Gas-prices.... what are the determining-factors in how Oil-companies , all the way down to the independent sellers, price their Gas? It certainly isn't Supply, and demand.... I watched the Gas prices over the course of 2006 , and it seemed to me that when demand was " down " the expense of petroleum was still " through the roof " And further more....why aren't Exxon , and Sunoco and the three remaining oil companies doing more in-depth research on Alternative-fuels to protect our environment? I guess I'm just a simple farm-girl from NorthEast , ohio. [agfarm]

http://www.gaspricewatch.com/new/default.asp This is what I use since it can be where I am and where I am going. It is filled in by people who are called spotters. I will take your site you shared and I will check it out. Seems like alot of other things to see as well. Thanks for sharing this with us here at Mylot. [Willowlady]
By the way, sorry, we are paying about 2.43 a gallon. Way too much! [Willowlady]

Today the price I paid for gas was $2.55 a gallon. There is a station in town that was 10 cents a gallon cheaper, but the lines were long. [ElusiveButterfly]

Right now, translated into dollars, here in Germany we are paying around $7 per gallon of gasoline. It is not cheap at all, and that is the main reason people are driving their bikes all over the place. Gas prices are ridiculously high! [berlinlife]

Well thet gas prices here keep going up and down. All summer it was around .90 a litre now its up to 1.06 here in peterborough canada. I drive a bigger car so this is killing me the way the prices go up and down. [7nicole1]

I pay about 100$ monthly I have hyundai MATRIX it is 1.6 litre so it dont cost me to much than using hemi motor it is 5.7 liter it is to big & costs to much. [sevenat]

I'm paying $2.47 per gallon here in Wisconsin. That site seems good though, I'll prob be checking it more often. Thank you. [tweakpotter]

i am paying normal 400 Rs for a gas cylinder [warren_nameless]

I am with a site that updates me on gas prices where I live it is nice to have. I am paying about $2.58 a gallon right now in Waynetown, Indiana [hoghoney]

Thanks for the gas web site, that is very interesting. I know last week we were paying aroun $2.48 a gallon. Thanks again for the Maps site, it's neat! [kaiyascloset]

The gas price of here in India is Rs 325 around 8 dollar to 10 dollar. It is slightly higher here. Most people uses gas and some places people uses solar cooker and some people uses wood for cooking. Mostly in rural areas wood for cooking. Some peoples uses gas for cooking. Also bio is used for cooking in some places. [ajithlal]

heya, Here in Australia today I put $40 of petrol in my car and it cost me 1.26 AUD per Litre. I got about half a tank. that works out in USD to about 1.01 per Litre. I think a litre is about 0.26 gallons. Well thats according to http://www.metric-conversions.org/volume-conversion.htm anyway. So unless my maths is off which it quite possibly could be i think i got 8.39 gallons of petrol or gas as you call it for approx $32 USD. We also have a website here where i live that tells you the fuel prices all over the state and can also SMS you the cheapest fuel price in your area - it is at www.fuelwatch.com.au . Cya, Tanika. [Tanika]

Gas just keeps on climbing so far it is up to 2.61 a gallon here and is suppose to keep going up they say it will hit 3.00 a gallon by summer this way the gas companies make billions more money! [kathyj]

Prices in our area are going for a low of $2.25 to a high of $2.59. I watch my area through http://www.gasbuddy.com/. [evalowrain]

Hi there.. i'm not so sure about the rate in the USA. I'm from Malaysia and we did suffered the increase in gas prices.. The rate is about 1.920(Malaysian Ringgit)= 1 litre. Compared to the first half of 2006, it was only 1.700(Malaysian Ringgit)=1 litre. Before that if i'm not mistaken it was only 1.45(MYR) per litre. I can travel >200KM with that before(i'm using a 600cc local malaysian car). I've thought of saving when i first bought the car.. *1USD=3.75Malaysian Ringgit. [PaPaJahat]

we use the petrolium gas only for cooking. the service providers take 7 US dollars per cylinder. one cylinder can be use for 45 days. [musaib]

Here in Peru we pay S/.12.00 per gallon. Converting it to Us dollars may be around $3.75. Gas price is gooing up and up. It never goes down. If gas price goes up, most other products prices go up. This is going from bad to worse. [megayo]

I'm in a rural part of western Virginia (not West Virginia) and our gas has gone to to about $2.60/gallon for premium. [d_lgoodman]

I am paying Rs 300 for Gas.. I heared that Gas price has gone down but still they want Rs 300 for 1 cylinder.. [raviksingh]

Since there is a global crisis in oil production worldwide the price of gas we usually used also increased. This gives a crisis to people who usually buy oil for their cars, machines and their factories. An increase of the price is another deduction to their net income. Even in our house we used cgas stove that almost reach the same price as the electric bill for every month. [primecrimson]

A couple weeks ago we were barely paying $2 a gallon, yesterday I filled up for $2.58 a gallon. It drives me crazy to be too tired to stop for gas on the way home from work only to pay .10 or so more per gallon in the morning. [earthsong]

Right now gas is $2.44 per gallon it goes up and down everyday on an average it costs me between 75-100 dollars to fill my suburban it has a 32 gal tank. I guess it is a good think I am a sahm or I would be working for daycare and gas only. I am in Missouri. [3BOYZ1PRINCESS]

I just filled up my tank yesterday and I paid $2.29. It seems like I'm filling up once a week. [racheld]

I live in North Central Florida and right now prices are about $2.55 for regular. [kakemafarm]

I'm actually not paying a whole lot for gas. Fortunately my hubby rides the bike to work a hour away everyday, and unless it's raining or just too cold to ride, we use the bike for everything, so even with using 92+ octane we're only paying about $20 a week for gas. When I last filled up Saturday 2.43 for premium. [celestiasdreamz]

Well I'm an Indian and here from quite some time, prices of gas are quite constant. I'm paying Rs.300 for 14.2kg.net weight at the moment. [Silver98]

about $2.47/gallon. areas close to the freeways pay more. We walk and use mass transit because it works better for us. I only drive once or twice per week. [marileec]

Thank you for this excellent post. It is very informative and thought provoking. I checked out the map and it is really quite interesting to see how high some areas are. I am not yet done exploring this site, it is loaded with useful information. Great job. [creativedreamweaver]
I am glad that you took the time to read it. I thought the map was interesting too. It is amazing how much gas is cosing all over the US [villageanne]

Thanks for the Maps site...saved as a favorite. I paid $2.79/gallon for mid-grade this week and I think the premium was $2.89. [cblackink]

It is now April and we are paying average about $2.80 per gallon, cheapest grade, in Orlando FL. A couple of months ago it was down to $2.40 or so....what's the deal? [jbshorty]
