No More Credit Cards!

I am very happy today as it is official that I have no more credit cards. I have canceled all my credit cards and now I only use cash and debit cards for my spending. I used to have the Classic, Gold and Platinum Visa and Mastercards from a few different banks. I got my first credit card back in 1993 and until yesterday, that card was still active. Finally, I figured out that if I keep on paying minimum monthly payments for my card, I would never be able to pay up all my debts forever. That would take my whole life paying with no end. What are the problems with credit cards? Firstly, if you always pay the minimum amount every month, you will be charged with a heavy interest rate on the unpaid balance. Over here the lowest rate is 18% per annum. That is a lot! Secondly, you would always want to spend the money that you do not have and in the end you have to use the money that you have to pay for your credit card bills and sooner or later, you would notice that you would be paying and paying and have nothing left for saving. Now, restricted to cash and debit cards, I am forced to manage my cash flow and make sure that I have some money saved for the rainy days. What do you think of that? I would love to read your feedback on this. Cheers!

responses and comments:

lucky you you are damn lucky to have come out of the credit cards. GOD BLESS you with more and more cash. NEVER again go to the credit cards, however lucrative the offers seem. GODBLESS YOU. AND goodluck [consultrainer]
I think I am staying away from credit card for good. Cheers! [Beruang]

I actually only use a debit card and cash too :D Never have had a credit card--and right now I don't feel like I need one :) I like knowing how much I can spend; and having the restraint not to go over it! :) I feel like that's more freedom that credit cards offer. [LilyoftheThorns]
Yes, let's stick to debit cards and cash only! That's the only way not to go overboard when shopping! Thanks [Beruang]

Congratulations with destroying your creditcards! Ofcourse, I'm meaning this in a positive way, because I had a Mastercard on my fathers name as well, which I was allowed to use til' an amount of 5000 Euros. Well ofcourse, this was the worst thing that could happen, cos' I was only 15 years old, which means I don't know how to spend money. All the 5000 euros went away to stupid little things and Games that I bought..i've just thrown all that money away! Nowadays, when I'm thinking back about it, I just feel ashamed that I could do something like that.. That's why I always tell everyone that they shouldn't use, or get a creditcard. Even if it would be for emergencies, it still is a irresponsible thing, because you can spend the money that we don't even have yet! Same thing I am thinking about loaning money from some company, because you will need to pay big money back to them, in usually 5 years.. I always recommend to just WAIT, with buying or spending something that you want, because saving is much and much better. There are even many advantages in it, because in the loop of time the prices will decrease, and you will be able to buy it for a better price, or maybe you don't want it even more! You should always watch out and write down how much money you can spend, what you need to pay, and what you wanna keep aside for bills. At least, this is what I always do ! [slot100]
erhm, I don't quite understand you..are you talking about how I've got rid of those 5000 euros dept from my creditcard? Well, it was fast paid by my father..but still I had to pay him back every single cent! so I've been working my butt off to pay him back.. I've actually been working 7 days in a week1 but luckily I could pay him faster back then I expected, thanks to working at night..In 3 months I was able to pay him back the 5000 euros! If you were talking about something else, then please put your question back again, but then with more information. Like on what part of my respond you are talking about, you know?:) Thanks in advance! [slot100]

i guess what you did is right, actually my wife got into credit card troubles, unable to pay back all the accumulated bills that has piled up because of having no disciplined on her expenditures...now all her salaries are being drained by all these credit cards and this cause us so much specially on our food budget...dont let this thing happen to you anyway... [arnoldream]
Thanks for sharing your experience. I am sorry to know about the problem with your wife and I hope you would find some ways to resolve that. Others can learn from this. [Beruang]

In my own honest opinion, I think credit cards are much better and safer compared to using cash or debit cards. I think it all depends on how you use your credit cards. Actually, you could make your credit cards work for you by always paying the total amount due every due date and paying your credit card promptly so the credit card companies couldn't charge you. Nowadays, credit card companies have a lot of promos like rewards points, discounts, etc. you could use your credit card to earn this rewards but make sure you pay on time and pay the whole balance always. happy [oiixdaii]
It is good for as long as you can manage your spending and payments but many credit card users failed to do that. [Beruang]

i got into credit card trouble this past fe wmonths.. actually,im still in trouble.. im starting to pay off all my debts from my mastercard.. can you give me tips on how i could pay them off immediately.. i have been working my a@@ off just to be able to earn extra to pay them immediately.. if im unable to pay them off, will this get me into jail? [JOIEMARVIC]
beruang is correct about converting your balance into term loans! there's no immediate solution to the problem unless you have "windfall" funds enough to pay all your credit card bills. now here's a tip to converting to term loans if you are on a tight budget. when you convert to term loans, the bank fixes an amount with lower interest, as your monthly amortization for a period of time until you fully amortize your loan. since you are on a tight budget, and wouldnt have excess funds, you should choose an amount just about equal (or a little more) than the "minimum" you pay on your present credit card (as this is only the amount you can afford on your budget to set aside for loan servicing)and then you should stop using your credit card. i guess there is no other way to go. hope this helps. [jojopalad]

Agree, Holley. Actually the credit card is a legal shark. What the different between them? One legal another one illegal only. What make you think they are hire so many money to promote the credit card?Where the money come from? [cyaoping]
Yup, they are legalized loan sharks! [Beruang]

Well done you! Congratulations and I hope that you will feel a lot better being in day-to-day control of your spending. In my opinion, credit cards are a slippery-slope and the interest rates they charge are usually far worse then managing the debt in another way - for example as a personal loan or bank overdraft. I only used to have a credit card because of travelling abroad but now you can use your debit card abroad, it isn't really necessary. [winewhisky]
Yup, debit cards are getting better exposures nowadays! Thanks for your comment! [Beruang]

That's a very sound decision. I had done away with all my credit cards too because I am an impulsive buyer and i have paid dearly with my credit cards. Now i spend only the cash that I really have, and it feels liberating. I no longer paid for additional charges and I'm more financially stable now. [Jenaisle]
I am having that feeling now! Thanks for sharing! [Beruang]

Congratulations! That is the only way to go, because you will be able to know what you are spending and maybe you can put some a way for "A raining Day" That is just an old saying my dad told me when I was young. Also, the other benefit, is that when you buy something "It's Yours" which all the fees that would go with a credit card. Happy myLotting - I look forward to another one of your discussions. [snowqueen2008]
Thanks for your reply, and I look forward to more of your discussions. Happy mylottinghappy [snowqueen2008]

sometimes when we hold a lot of money,, we want to buy everything we see,, alike when we hold a credit card,, sometimes we will be so wild use on it,, and it's better if we hold debit card,, for me it's more save,, it is more enjoyable,, and it can control me well,, :) [marzoeki]
Yes! Debit cards are the way to go! Thanks! [Beruang]

You are right. I have now cut down buying using my credit cards. I now decided to pay cash so I will be able to pay off my credit cards. The interest rated using the credit card is so high. If we only pay the minimum it will take ages to pay. I have learned my lessons too. [jimbelle]
I am glad that you take your action early and not get trap in the debts! Thanks! [Beruang]

Wow! I envy you! I mean, I still have credit cards with me and yes, I should pay more than the minimum so I won't be burdened with the financial charges. happy [tryxiness]
Make sure you do that or you will never be able to pay them off. [Beruang]

Hi, Beruang I am only student do not have any credit card. Also, use cash or debit card only. I don't know to much about credit card. But people like to have its for open business. [yuunajung]
Well stay away from credit card if you can unless you can manage your spending and payment. Thanks. [Beruang]

Hey good decision you make! Credit cards don't help people and I have learned that in my experience. I once had problems paying my credit cards. The bill just keeps adding up because of the interest. It took me 1 year to pay for all of them and it took a lot of my savings too. Though I don't have them all canceled but only one, I now have the discipline of not using them anymore. I don't bring them when I go out so nothing will make me buy anything that's out of the budget. Ciao! wink [iskayz]
Thanks for sharing your experience and glad that you are under control now. [Beruang]

well i never had a credit card and never intend to lol glad you have stopped using credit cards!! [shamzy18]
That's the way to go. All the best! [Beruang]

I congradulate you on this! that is very good. I wish I had a few less. And I ALWAYS pay over the nminimum. but life has thrown me too many curves lately and I am grateful for my credit cards- I am still paying off charges from last year that I used my car for- But they wee to save two of my puppies lives (they had Parvovirus)each bill was over $1200.00 so I would have never had that kind of cash laying around. The puppies are now Grown adult Dogs weighing 80 and 95 lbs. so I am happy that they thrived! and I don't regret any.. but it is sure taking a long time to pay these debts down. I commend you! [minx267]
At least you mad good use of it and hopefully you will be able to pay it all soon. [Beruang]

Congratulations on your sensible spending, I only have one card whch I make sure is paid off in full every three months. I also try my best to pay more then the minimum balance every month. I only have one for safer payments online and to make life a little easier if money is a little tight one month. I am not extravagant with my card at all, I have seen what mess others get into. [creative_genius]
Well I am glad that you are a responsible credit card user. Just be careful not to over spend it. Thanks! [Beruang]

Congratulations. You discovered what a lot of people never learn their entire lives. They treat credit cards like free money and never figure out that they are always broke because they are paying for that "free" money. I hope you stick with it. Moving forward you will find you have more money to do what you wan [rosettaresearch]
Thanks a lot for the encouragement! I agree with what you said! [Beruang]

i dont of credit carde. but i know that credit carde is good.becouse if you go market for purchais any think you can payment easly but if you go outside with cash for sopingh you have to face many roblem so today people use credit carde and now many banke provide easly credit card and everyday people takeing credit card use it and [RAGHUBIR]
As long as you can manage it wisely than it can be a good tool! [Beruang]

I would never destroy all my credit cards, but then I think of the credit card as a debit card and I have a budget and a high interest savings account. I can tell you all here never get the income protection insurance plan because that means if you do not have a credit balance on your credit card then they tack on that one percent on your purchase. I never just paid the minimum amount, even when I was trying to get out of debt 15 years ago, I put whatever money I found onto my credit card bill and was able to get it paid off. What I did was after it was paid off was to open a high interest savings account and put so much money in that and if I charged anything on my card, I put it down on a spread sheet, and later a money Recording software I got from the net, so I was able to see if I had enough to transfer over and pay for it. Seeing my debits and credits and only having cards that offered benefits - points, and cash back dividends, made it easier for me. It is all about budgeting. [suspenseful]
Thanks for sharing your experience and your budgeting tips. We all can learn something from you. [Beruang]

isn't it very liberating? right after my divorce from my ex huibby i paid them all off and cancled all of them! and OMG did it feel great! i didn't ahve any credit card untill after i got married to my now hubby and we are expecting out first kid we opened one just to get the baby firniture and stuff for his room. That at the bank told us we need more credit [DFrodeo06]
Well, I hope you can manage that without getting into some kind of over spending trouble. Cheers! [Beruang]

To keep your credit rating u you should have kept two of those cards and just kept a zero balance on them each month. You can use a card without maxxing it out and that in the long run would help you keep your credit rating up. I am in the process of paying off all of our debt. I hope to only have the house payment and one vehicle payment left by the end of the year if things go well for the remainder of the year. [tammytwo]
I am not to worry about my credit rating at the moment as those credit cards have spoiled it. I'll give it time to rebuild my rating again. Thanks for the suggestion anyway. [Beruang]

Good for you, that is a wise decision in your part. I never like credit cards eversince. My hubby had several credit cards too but as much as we can we never use it to shop or even bring it when we go shopping. We only use our debit cards. I dont want to be in a situation where we are already loaded with debts. I think spending the money wisely is the best thing to do specially at this time of crisis. [belk89]
That's a good thinking and with that I am sure that you guys would avoid over spending while shopping. Cheers! [Beruang]

Good for you. I think I've used a credit card once in the past 10 years. It's nice to have one, in case you're traveling and have an emergency. But I prefer paying in cash for everything. It helps me not spend. If I truly want something, I'll save up a little at a time, and then when I do buy the item it means more to me because of the saving and sacriice. (Or I could decide that it's not actually worth having or saving for.) Most people don't realize that when they have 3 or 4 cards and $15,000 or more in debt to pay that it will actually take 10-15 years to get out from under that debt and it could end up costing over $50,000. Credit cards are not worth it. [kenzie45230]
That's what most people do not realize. Thanks for highlighting it. Cheers! [Beruang]

Congratulations on getting rid of your credit cards. We got rid of ours a little while back. The only bills we have now are mortgage and the usual utility bills, gas, groc. We were very excited to get out of debt with the credit cards. My son got into a problem with cards (caused by his ex girlfriend - he never had one til she got him into it) and he had a really hard time getting them payed. Cash is always better to use. If you can't pay cash, more than likely you don't really need it yet and you can save the money in your savings account until you have enough to buy it. That's what we do. Have a good day and happy lotting. [lilcee]
Sorry to hear about your son and yes, cash is the best way to buy things without over spending. [Beruang]

I understand your situation but it is a mater of how you use your cards. You can actually make money using them BUt you have to be very disciplined. BUT that is the key if you cannot keep track and control your spending and make sure you make payments you are buggered. Like I said there are ways to actualy make money from credit cards and for anyone interested I have a website . . .a banner link exists on my profile called Make-Me-Money.com. Its a free info website and tells you about the many ways of making money online. check it out . . it costs nothing and as always I warn folk to always read the smallprint before they signup to anything Toodle for the moment MOGANT [mogant]
Thanks for the info and all the best with your money making effort. Cheers! [Beruang]

Congratulations on getting credit card debt free. I was able to pay off 2 credit cards earlier this year but still have 2 more to go. We're not doing too bad because we're down to 2 credit cards left to pay off. We use them all the time so that we can reap the reward points but pay off all that we use plus an additional $100 per month so that they should be paid off in two years. My interest rates were 21% on one and 19% on the other one that we paid off and the ones we use now are 7.9% and 8.9%, which isn't too bad. [shawnhorne]
That rates you have there is quite low for a credit card. Good for you then and all the best in paying them off. [Beruang]

I applaud you for having the will power to dispose of all your credit cards. That's not very easy to do. I have two credit cards and i just dont have the strength to let go of them. I have them since forever and they're really convenient during times when i really dont have money to spare and i need to buy something badly. I dont overspend though. I have a good credit standing. But one of these days I hope to get rid of them also. That is when i already have the money to pay all my debts. [ganda8831]
Well, if you have the will then you will have the way. I am sure one fine day you would have gotten rid of them. [Beruang]

that is a wise choice. i was in this situation once and could not control my spending. the banks had earned a lot of my money thru interest. now i chose to pay for my purchases with cash or with a debit card and learn to control my spending. credit card is really a very dangerous trap and can easily lead to bankruptcy if one is not careful. the interest of 18-24% per annum is simply not worth it. [chiaeugene]
Most people are unaware of the trap and by the time they realize it, it would be too late. Thanks! [Beruang]

Hi there, it's very expensive to have so many cards! I only have one now and I use it to make big purchases but I'm thinking of canceling my account as well. Many financial analysts reiterate that paying by cash is the best way to curb overspending. :) SO that's a really good decision you made today. I'm proud of you man. Just make sure that you don't carry too much money in your wallet otherwise you'll end up spending a lot still... [mimico]
I am glad that you realize that and yes, I only carry little money on my wallet. It's dangerous to carry a lot. [Beruang]

I love the prepaid card, either visa or mastercard Netspend.Sometimes I get a physic feeling and this company will go a long way. They afford alot of spending freedom for people with bad credit! You can also pay your bills online, direct deposit, send a friend some money, link it to your cellphone etc.Now they have a savings account feature that is accompanied on your card, use it anywhere and it looks no different. www.netspend.com [mymoneyislow30]
Yup, their Services have improved a lot nowadays! Thanks! [Beruang]

wow...congratulations pal. I do have 2 existing cards at present..another 1 arrived yesterday but I can't remember when I have applied ...?..I somehow feel dependent to this things lately...some things are swiped eventhough it's really not that important..*sigh* [rangics]
Well, it is good that you are aware of the danger now so that you can be more careful with your card. [Beruang]

Yes, you are right. I have never known how much money I have since I get my first credit card. Though the credit card is very convenient when paying, but you will feel that these money expended is not yours. Unfortunately, on a same day every month, you will be astonished that you have owed bank so much money! [siuloong]
That's right! Credit cards make the bank richer and richer! [Beruang]

credit cards ae for banks who provide ypu knowing your bank balances and insted of putting ideal use it for circular flow of funds thats why people are poor bcoz rich people keep their cash in banks [pateltarunmba]
Thanks for your comment! [Beruang]

Hello Beruang, If you know how to manage your account and credit cards you will have few problems. The rule is don't spend more than what you earn. Live within your means. In case of credit cards, you have one month to pay all your debt. After that it earn interest. So you list all the thing you bought using your credit card and alllocate money to pay for it when you bill arrive. Don't leave anythin, pay all the balance at once so it won't earn interest. I also have only one credit card because you need it. It is becoming necessity now to have a credit card, specially when you travel. Just like your debit card and cash now. Treat credit card like it and you won't fall in debt. Good luck and good decision you have in eliminating all your debt. Regards. ninjaninjaninja [robert19ph]
Yes I know the rules but rules can be broken and therefore I took my action. Cheers! [Beruang]

Oh!You have writen off all your credit cards!Yes if you have credit card, you might spend the money you don't have. You have to pay back money sooner or later!I think you should restrict yourslf to earn more money and the money you spend!Only do this you might save much money which you can use when the rainy day! [ningyuhui2009]
That's the whole idea! Thanks! [Beruang]

Dang, am i lucky ive never even had a creditcard, reading your story its best to keep of it dont you? Ofcourse you want to spend, its to tempting to dont, and like you said u and up having nothing for saving, luckily ive never had this problem (as i dont have a creditcard, i mostly use cash) [boeferman]
If you can live without it than don't have to get it. Cheers! [Beruang]

Credit cards are for people who has self control and discipline. If you think you're short of these then don't get credit cards. [eggspert88]
You are absolutely right there! No control means disaster! [Beruang]

If you have a credit card you are responsible for using it properly, then if you failed to do that, then you end up paying lots of bills plus the interest. I got my new credit card, what's nice is they don't give you any interest if you paid it on time of the due date. If your not going to use it, you'll not be charge. The reason why i get credit card is for incase of emergency. I got two debit card too which is more ideal to use coz you don't need to pay interest, so you can manage your money very well. All we need to do is self-control in spending. Happy posting. [rainmark]
Yes, you are right. It about being a responsible user. But sometimes we thought we could pay back and then something else happen. Cheers! [Beruang]

Good for you. I am a shopaholic and a credit card will drive me crazy. I am one of those who do not have a name in the data base of credit card companies. I hate it. i pay in cash, in check or my debit cards. This way, i do not buy when i do not have money. That should have been the way to live so that we will not have problems. [everlasting]
I think you should start to do something about that before it will become worse. All the best to you! [Beruang]

I admire you for cutting all credit cards. They are a way of living beyond your means. I am amazed how many banks are ready to give cards to their clients without checking on them. Than they end up living beoynd their means without being able to repay back their loans. [ronaldinu]
Banks are just there to make profits out of you. Thanks for your comments. [Beruang]

Hi Beruang, I think that you made a very wise decision and everything that you say about credit cards is true. I do have one credit card, but I use it sparingly and always pay a lot more than the minimum. Many people are so dependant on credit that they end up in very bad financial shape. I am hoping to get my card to zero balance and only use it for emergencies. Blessings. [Pose123]
I hope that you would be able to get rid of your credit balance soon. All the best and thanks. [Beruang]

While I understand where you are coming from a financial adviser would have told you not to cancel your credit cards or to keep at least one. Strangely enough, canceling can hurt you credit wise in the long run. http://www.bankrate.com/brm/news/cc/20061114_cancel_card_credit_scorea.asp [irishidid]
It is okay to hurt my credit rating rather than hurt my cash and savings. with better saving I can still get a good rating at any bank here. [Beruang]

I think credit cards are essential and indispensable. They make our lives easy. The only thing is that one should Exercise restraint and spend only that much of money as one can afford. One should not overspend. One should pay full balance every month. That way one need no to take cash. I pay my balances in full every month. I get points every month and I spend them on groceries. That is no much but I every three months or so I get about $20 - $40 worth of groceries free. Another important point is that credit card in good for maintaining your credit rating. Good luck. [asahibza]
You only get good credit rating if you manage your cards well. If not, your credit rating would suffer and it would be hard to repair. [Beruang]

If not used prudently, credit cards can be very dangerous! I have 2 credit cards that I use for everything. One credit card gives me 1% cash back on my purchases and the other one give me 5% back on my gas purchases. I use the credit cards for everything, leave my money in the bank and transfer my payment when it's due. I pay my entire balance each month so there's no interest to pay. I know how much money I have and I don't go over it. [reinydawn]
Thank you. It does take some discipline and it's not always easy, but I'm committed to staying out of debt! [reinydawn]

I think that is a wonderful idea .I am feeling the pain of credit card debt ,and is something that can get you down if you let it .But you live and learn hopefully .Anyways good for you .You seem to have a plan ,stick to it . [pauld43]
I had the pain and now it is gone. Cheers! [Beruang]

We had one credit card and that was enough. We could only ever afford the minimum payment and so the balance was going down painfully slow. Now we are at the point of no credit cards or loans and so only have the cash that comes it. It took some getting used to but I finally managed to sort a budget out that kept us within our cash limits and so now we have money to save too. [gemini_rose]
It is good that you have managed to overcome your credit problems. Take care! [Beruang]

Congrats on getting rid of your credit cards! That must be a really great feeling. I have 3 that are maxed out that I need to pay off, and I just got a new one. Hopefully I can manage that one better. Good luck to you! [thinksf]
Just be careful or you might end up using all the credits on that one too. Cheers! [Beruang]

yeah everyone has a credit problem at least one in live.. but many people just dont learn from these mistakes.. Credit cards may be real usefull, but people has to have disipline with it.. [zulito]
You are right! Discipline is the key! [Beruang]

Hi, There are pro and contra when using any credit card or debit card or any other debt card, For me, before I'm using a credit card, i must make sure i can pay the debt amount back quickly as i can. Usually when i'm going to shopping groceries, i didn't bring too much cash money, first' it's about my security, we didn't know when someone will follow us and try to rob when they see we bring too much money, i'm aware about it. After paying groceries with credit card, i'll go to ATM machine and pay the amount back. Sometime when i need to stay in hotel or resort for my work, i'll use my credit card to pay the fee, but it's OK for me cause i can pay it back when i claim from my office. It's fine using a credit card if you know how to manage your financial account. My wife and I, have our own financial account, just a simple account create from Excel doc. From it we will know how our financial goes to. And if we want to buy anything like TV, refrigerator or other appliances, we will find a zero interest payment store and make sure we can pay the amount monthly. It is a dicipline act that we must follow. I also got a debit card, but i didn't try it wisely. This debit card need enough money to make a payment, as example, when i buy petrol in pump station for $50, they'll deduct $150 first, then will repay $100 back to your debit account 1 day after. If, i only have $50 in my debit card, how i can buy petrol when there is no ATM machine to get cash?. Huh.. that is the problem. However, when you buy other thing by using debit card, there is no problem at all. No need to bring cash and no worry about losing your money when you misplace it. I think credit card or debit card that you are using right now, It's just how you can manage your financial, That's all.. It's just my opinion.. [braderped]
Thanks for your comment. I wonder why your debit card works that way. All mt debit cards works just like any other credit card and the only different is that it's my money in there. Cheers! [Beruang]

That is wonderful, congratulations!! I got into trouble with credit cards years ago and had no more till recently. My mortgage company offered a card that gave me a rebate on purchases and applied it to the principle of my mortgage. I wasn't sure I could handle that but was determined to try! So, I figured out that I would use it like cash. Every time I charged a necessity, like groceries or gas or paying a bill, I would take a red pen and note it in my checkbook. I treated it like a debit. When the bill came, I would add back in all the red entries and I would have the money to pay the bill! You see, I treated it like cash and always knew how much money I had in the bank if I paid the bill that very day. I bought nothing I didn't truly need. And I got my mortgage paid down a little bit! If you treat your credit card like a debit card, it's not a bad thing--as long as you never pay an annual fee for your card. [dragon54u]
That's a good way to manage it. Thanks for sharing your ideas. [Beruang]

Good for you!! I believe it's the best way and have had problems with them, so now do just the same. I do have one, with only a $500 limit. I don't use it and keep it locked in the safe, only for emergencies, but so far, I've not used it. [nanajanet]
That's a good way to ensure that you are not using it. Cheers! [Beruang]

I know I have heard it is really easy to get hooked on credit when you have a credit card but I woudl still like to have one. I have never had one yet and would like to get credit so when I am stuck I don't have to borrow money from family and friends but can rely on myself and even if I have to pay interest charges it woudl be better then having to rely on others. I want to think that I will be different then most and will only use it when I need ti but will prob end up overspendign wehn I see somethign I like but would like to try with just one casue that is all anyone needs is just one anyways. Just be careful with it once you have got yours if not you would end up regretting it. [Beruang]

SO do I. I hate credit card, since you need to remember to pay your money back. But my wife love it. [Marvin42]
Don't hate it. Just don't use it and get trapped. Cheers! [Beruang]

Bank is something funny. It seems that banks can do us much good for us with so much money there. However, the interest we pay can do us more harm than good. I must be cautious when dealing with the finantial problem in bank. Giving the money to the bank is so ridiculous for I even haven't used the credit card.I'm glad I can meet one who have the same idea with me. [Haoyijia]
Stay away from it if you can. Cheers! [Beruang]

Congratulations that you also made it and I also encountered the same way with my credit card until the time that my wife would ask me to stopped using the credit card and we have to surrender it from 3 years ago after we do all the debt from my Mastercard from 3 years ago but I still have another card in which I do used it only when we go for vacation time in case of emergency and it is my wife who keep it...... Nope, I am a Malaysian! Cheers! [Beruang]

Good for you!! I do have 1 with a low limit for emergencies. I used to have 5 and have went down to the one. I don't want in that mess again. [Thoroughrob]
Hope that you do mess that one up as well. Cheers! [Beruang]

I'm tremendously jealous!lol I pride myself on living a simple life, and we never used credit cards, til a few years ago when hubby hurt his knee and was off work for two or three months.. that's all it took, to use credit cards during that time.. we've not caught up since!sad [flowerchilde]
Sorry to hear that and I hope you would be able to find some ways to get over the debt. All the best and thanks for sharing your thoughts. [Beruang]

Yay! Well done. We do keep a credit card but it comes out so rarely and is always paid off when the bill arrives. They really are a temptation we could do without. [huswyf]
Congratulations to you too for your discipline! [Beruang]
